About the Artist
Cathie Hubert is a French painter living in UK.
Studied Film, communication and Art, worked as a film reviewer for several French cinema magazines, taught History of Film and created her own Communications company.
She started to paint in 1990, at Elizabeth Raymond Art School in Grasse, on the French Riviera and discovered a passion for colors. Soon she became a full time painter and as a lover of the Arts, also started a Cultural café, organizing exhibitions and classical concerts.
She left the South of France for family reasons in 2006.
Today she lives near London where she paints and sells her work and exhibits the Art of several other talented artists.
She shares her time between her own creative work in her studio and the management of the Gallery.
Opera lover, her inspiration has lately shifted, she is currently working on a series of books inspired by Opera. In Spring 2015 she has published a small Art book called “Mon âme a reconnu votre âme” inspired by the extraordinary voice of tenor Jonas Kaufmann. The book is a collection of poetry and art and is available in the opera houses of the world as well as on amazon.
She is working on a series of projects linking Art and Opera and goes on with her own writing and drawings.
She writes a blog and goes on organizing art exhibitions in her gallery.
